There is a reason Cabernet Sauvignon feels so at home in Andau. It is a late-ripening variety and benefits from Burgenland’s long, warm summers. The grapes can stay on the vines for a long time, allowing them to reach full ripeness. The wine then spends 16 to 18 months maturing in barriques. The result is a full-bodied, intense Cabernet Sauvignon with plenty of fruit, spice and depth – just right for anyone who likes a powerful red in their glass.

What makes UNPLUGGED Cabernet Sauvignon special

UNPLUGGED is called Rohstoff in Germany and the Benelux countries – but inside the bottle, you will find the same wine and the same idea. With the UNPLUGGED line, Hannes Reeh aims to put wine into the bottle in as pure and unadulterated a form as possible. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously, with no fining and no added enzymes. UNPLUGGED, just like the music.

Andau plays an important role in Cabernet Sauvignon too. The grapes ripen for a particularly long time under the Andau sun and are harvested at full ripeness as one of the last varieties of the season. These intensely ripe grapes are fermented without added yeasts or enzymes before the wine matures in barriques.
